Holding a dual role as senior pastor and worship leader is tough! I have never had to deal with that kind of responsibility. I know it takes its toll over a long period of time and I have a ton of respect for people who are required to hold both positions simultaneously. My first thought is that we should always defer to the leadership of the senior pastor on these decisions but in this case your brother *is* the senior pastor! Yes, you are right in saying that God should be the one who dictates roles within each church body and it may be that these well-intentioned people who think your brother should step down as worship pastor are seeing the fact that he is carrying such a big burden. Pray that the Lord will reveal Himself in all ways in this situation. I know a senior pastor who led worship for years in his church and recently he made two huge decisions. The first was to bring on an Associate Pastor who teaches twice a month while the senior Pastor teaches the other weeks. Second, he brought on a Worship Pastor who leads 3 out of 4 weeks a month. Now the Senior Pastor still teaches a few times a month and still leads a few times a month, but he's got a built-in support system. Sounds like a winning combination!

just had a few questions. I did not read all you had to offer, but I will. My brother is the pastor of the Greenville first baptist churh in greenville pa. where he is also the praise and worhsip leader, I am also on the prise and worship team and play keyboard and pipe organ, I am just average to most, but I play for God, so I feal very good. Here is the question, My brother has been told he should not be Pastor and praise and worship leader by some people, however he does a great job at both not just because he is my brother but because he love.s what he does and can lead very well. I will say we have had people come and go and have had so called experts say the way we should lead, but I think God should and will say what should be done. we have grown from about 50 people to about 200 people at a service and they love the way the music and service are, so i ask you what do you think, thank you Brian

Okay here's a quick update on these rules. After playing C&K this way for about a year, the group of friends that we play with decided to go back and try the original rules. No mods whatsoever, basically right out of the manual. WE LOVED IT! I will add that we particularly like it in 4 player version. This is because there is no building phase and as a result turns go faster, people stay engaged more, and the game feels like it moves at a better pace. I will say that play time is not any less or more, because getting 13 points is still pretty hard so it takes longer with less production, but honestly, we really have been enjoying it. I will also add that the barbarians attacking and the Defender of Catan victory points are more of a factor in the original rules. Last game we played I had 4 VP just from Defender of Catan cards, and still didn't win. So Catan is still be most righteous game ever no matter which version you play, and we're loving the original rules these days.
